Shipping & delivery

A painting travels from the studio to your wall stretched or rolled – you choose at checkout. Depending on the choice, you may need a framer to re-stretch the painting, or it may be ready to hang.

Artworks are sent to any address in the world with tracked express shipping included in the price of every painting. Dispatch within 5 working days.

The canvas comes off its stretcher bars in the studio, is interleaved with acid-free glassine, rolled painted-side out around a wide core and shipped in a rigid tube. Any local picture framer re-stretches it; a size card for the framer travels in the parcel.

B · Stretched, ready to hang – UK & EU option

The painting stays on its bars, protected by corner guards and foam, double-boxed, with D-rings and wire already fitted. Chosen at checkout for a surcharge; available where courier size limits allow.

When it arrives

Questions

Is the price the final price?

Yes. Prices include tracked shipping worldwide and a signed certificate of authenticity. No UK VAT is charged (the studio is not VAT-registered). Outside the UK, your country’s import VAT or GST where it applies (from 5% in Italy and Hungary to the standard rate of 19–25% in EU countries with no reduced art rate; none in the US) and the courier’s customs fee are added at checkout as one prepaid line, so nothing is due on delivery. It is our estimate: if customs charge less, we refund the difference; if more, we cover it.

Can I pay by bank transfer?

Yes. At the checkout choose Bank transfer instead of a card. The work is reserved for you for 5 days and the bank details come by email with your order summary. As soon as the money arrives you receive the confirmation and receipt, and everything else is the same as for a card order. If no transfer arrives within 5 days, the reservation lapses and the work goes back on sale.

Stretched or rolled – which should I choose?

Both are offered at checkout. Stretched (on its bars, ready to hang) is the default for the UK and, for works under about a metre, the EU. Rolled travels in a rigid tube and any local picture framer can re-stretch it (UK £80–£150, EU €60–€150, US $200–$250) – we include a size card for them. Large works travel rolled to the US and further afield unless you choose otherwise.

Can I return a painting?

Ready-made works sold online carry a 14-day right to cancel from the day you receive them, under UK and EU consumer law – we apply it to every consumer buyer. Tell us by email within the 14 days, then send the painting back within 14 days with the prepaid return label we email you – its cost is deducted from the refund (up to £90 UK · £200 EU · £300 US · £350 elsewhere) – or by a courier of your choice, insured, at your own cost and risk. Before sending, you photograph the painting and film it being packed, as our return email explains. We refund within 14 days of receiving the painting back, after checking it against the photographs taken before dispatch; a painting that was used rather than examined – hung, framed, exposed, marked – is refunded less the loss in its value. Commissioned works are made to your specification and are exempt. Please see Returns & cancellation for all the important details.
